Assimilation

What is it

Assimilation is a game idea I have had for a long time. It is a game that is best described as a combination of a few of my favorite titles. 

Assimilation is a survival game where you are not limited to a single character.

In this game, you will manage multiple 'survival-like' characters. Each has individual equipment, health, etc. While they do need guidance, they do have fully automated behaviors.

General "How to"

Select/Command

click or drag click to select assimilees. With an assimilee selected you can use the right mouse button to assign them to different resources. You can also hold left shift to que up these commands. They will complete them in the order they are commanded.

Inventory

With only one assimilee selected, you can open the shared inventory with the "C". key. Here, you can view the resources you've collected and craftable items.

Craft

To craft, select the item, check that the requirements are met, and then set the quantity and craft. The item will then show up in your inventory.

Equipping & Building

To equip an item, simply click it. This will automatically equip it to the appropriate spot. If it is a building item, the assimilee will enter 'build mode.' This simply means that if you select only this assimilee you will only have the option to place the building. This system needs improving. 

Work Bench

To access higher level items you will need to craft and place a work bench. After that, with an assimilee selected, you can right click the work bench. The assimilee will travel to it and open the inventory, but this time the craftable items will be specific to the work bench.

Key Guide

A, W, S, D - Control the camera

Q, E - Rotate the camera

Left Mouse - Select/Deselect

Right Mouse - Command

Shift - Que up commands

C - Opens the inventory (Select a character first)

Space - Turns on manual control mode
